An incident in which a man allegedly murdered his wife and burnt down the body and surrendered to the police was reported from a village in Sidlaghat taluk in Chickballapur district.
The police gave the name of the accused as Adinarayan (38) and the victim as Varalakshmi (28), residents of Chikkadasenahalli under Sidlaghat Rural police limits.
Adinarayan married Varalakshmi about 12 years ago and they have two children.
Adinarayan admitted to the police that he killed his wife suspecting her character. He also said that he tried to hang the body to a tree in order to create the impression that Varalakshmi committed suicide. But when the attempt failed, he burnt down the body.
