Man climbs water tank demanding HDK’s visit

A man, said to be a diehard fan of former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, climbed a water tank on Saturday demanding the JD(S) leader’s visit to his village.

The incident occurred at Ankanahalli in Malavalli of the district.

According to the police, Prasanna had tried to meet Mr. Kumaraswamy several times during his visits to Mandya and Malavalli. However, he could not meet him because of security reasons.

The man climbed the tank, shouted slogans and urged Mr. Kumaraswmay to visit Ankanahalli. When some youths tried to climb the tank to bring him down, he threatened to commit suicide.

The police and fire personnel rushed to the spot and promised to convey his demands to Mr. Kumaraswamy. Later, he came down.

The police said they would file a case after ascertaining his health conditions.
