Laxmi R. Hebbalkar, president of the Karnataka Pradesh Mahila Congress, categorically denied the allegations of owning a mining company in Indonesia levelled by senior leaders and MLAs of Bharatiya Janata Party S. Suresh Kumar and C.T. Ravi on Thursday.

“If the BJP and their leaders prove the charges, I will not only quit politics, but also gift the entire company to that party and their leaders Mr. Kumar and Mr. Ravi,” she said on Friday.

Speaking to THE HINDU , she said the State was virtually in the election-year and BJP was desperately trying to return to power in the State. The BJP was smart to do such type of ‘dramas’ aimed at spoiling and bringing disrepute to the ruling Congress.

The BJP had targeted her as she was holding an important State level position in Congress and was very active in Belagavi district, she added.
