A four-year-old leopard was found dead in the Yagachi reservoir backwaters near Shettigere village in Belur taluk on Tuesday. Raghu, a resident of the village, spotted the carcass of the animal in the water on his way to his farm on Tuesday morning. The villagers informed the Forest Department officials about the animal’s death. Forest officials reached the spot and took the carcass for post-mortem. The officials said the cause of death would be known only after post-mortem.
