The All India Trade Union Congress State unit general secretary D.A. Vijaybhasakar and KSRTC Staff and Workers’ Federation general secretary H.V. Ananthasubba Rao will launch an indefinite hunger strike on March 20 in support of various demands of KSRTC workers.

Both the leaders will begin the stir in front of the KSRTC headquarters in Bengaluru, a release of the Federation said.

Implementation of inter-corporation transfers, introduction of OOD (on official duty)facility, and settlement of gratuity arrears are some of the prominent demands of the federation, the release said. Merging of all the four corporations and making it a single corporation as it was in the past before division was another major demand.

“The management of KSRTC had agreed to implement them in a bilateral talks held on January 30 this year. However, it failed to honour its promise”, the Federation alleged.

A number of meetings with Transport Minister H.M. Revanna also did not yield any result. Hence it was resolved to launch the indefinite hunger strike, the Federation said.
