KRRS wants loan recovery drive to be stopped

The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) alleged that bank officials had adopted “unfair means” to seize properties of farmers who had failed to repay loans in the district. Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, K.S. Puttannaiah, Melkote MLA and senior KRRS leader, said that bank officials were “humiliating farmers” by seizing farm equipment.

He demanded that banks stop the loan recovery drive. Banks have already issued notices to farmers directing them to repay loans. When farmers are in distress due to drought, how will they repay the loans, Mr. Puttannaiah questioned.
