August 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated March 29, 2016 12:24 pm IST - KALABURAGI:

Karnataka Raita Krishikarmikara Sanghatane (KRKS) will stage a demonstration in Bengaluru on August 6 protesting against the statement of Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh regarding farmers’ suicides.

Secretary of KRKS H.V. Diwakar told presspersons here on Friday that Mr. Singh’s statement attributing impotence, love affairs, dowry as the reason for the increasing incidents of farmers suicide only showed how insensitive the government was to the issue.

Demanding an unconditional apology from Mr. Singh, Mr. Diwakar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should drop such Ministers who have no value for the life of the farmers.

He demanded that the State government declare all rain-deficit districts as drought hit and take up drought relief works immediately.
