With the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) executive committee meeting scheduled on Saturday, KPCC chief G. Parameshwara met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday at his residence. The meeting went on for more than an hour. Sources said Dr. Parameshwara and Mr. Siddaramaiah discussed the agenda for Saturday’s meeting, being organised to discuss preparations for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Apart from them, Cabinet Ministers, party MPs, former presidents of State Congress and senior party leaders will participate in the meeting. The executive committee comprises a total of 114 members. It is the first executive committee meeting to be held after the 2013 Assembly elections.

Apart from strategies to strengthen the party for the coming elections, discussions on finalising the party candidates for the elections, appointment of heads to various boards and corporations, are some of the important issues that will be discussed, sources said.

Sources also pointed out that some MLAs, who have been complaining about the Chief Minister’s unilateral style of functioning, are likely to raise the issue in the meeting.

AICC Karnataka in-charge Digvijay Singh is unlikely to attend the meeting.
