Bombay Vikings lead singer and songwriter Neeraj Shridhar had the students of Manipal University swaying at the KMC Greens here on Wednesday evening at the pro-show, which was part of ‘MIST-2015’, the South Zone Inter-Medic sports competition.
A release by Manipal University here on Friday said that although Mr. Shridhar was late for his show, the crowd waited anxiously to hear him sing. Mr. Shridhar wasted no time in getting the audience to dance to his famous chartbusters. First he belted out a popular favourite, ‘Hey Baby’. He followed this with ‘Aye Pappi’ and the title song of the movie ‘Race’.
The stage was ablaze with lights and smoke. In the background, members of his band danced and jammed along with the music.
The crowd went wild as he stepped up the tempo from one song to another. Midway through the song ‘Aale’, Mr. Shridhar left the stage and came to the aisle. Later, while performing ‘Twist’, he invited people from the audience to join him on stage and dance along – which they gladly did.
Towards the end of the evening, he sang some of his most famous and most requested tracks – ‘Woh chali’, ‘Kya soorat hai’ and ‘Zara nazro se keh do’. These songs had everyone gathered jumping, whistling and waving their hands in the air, making it a memorable evening.
