Kidnapped children traced to Bangalore, rescued

Two children allegedly kidnapped by a youth were rescued by the Hassan police in Bangalore on Wednesday. The six-year-old girl and 12-year old boy were allegedly kidnapped on June 28 from Singanakuppe village in Holenarsipur. The Holenarsipur Rural police had registered the complaint.

The district police had sent teams to different places, including Bangalore. According to police, the children were kidnapped by Rajendra, a resident of Kadaga village in Hassan taluk. The police had collected CCTV footage from cameras installed at the railway station in Hassan, where the youth was seen with the children on June 28. The police team, which had been to Bangalore, traced the children and the youth near Kempegowda bus station on Wednesday. The police said that the children were healthy and unharmed. The youth told the police that he took the children with him because they went with him voluntarily.
