Kaup TMC polls: 18 file nomination papers

As many as 18 nomination papers were filed for the elections to the newly formed Kaup Town Municipal Council (TMC) here on Tuesday, which was the last date for filing of nomination papers.

According to a press release issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s Office here, the 18 nomination papers filed included four nomination papers by the Congress, 10 by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), one by Janata Dal (Secular), and three by independent candidates.

The scrutiny of nomination papers would take place on April 13, while the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is April 15.

The elections would be held on April 24. The counting of votes would be held on April 27.
