A State-level photography competition and exhibition will be held as part of the annual Chalukya Utsav being held at the historical Aihole and Badami of Bagalkot district.
In a release issued here, Deputy Commissioner of Bagalkot and president of the Utsav Samiti, Manojkumar Jain, said the photography competition would be on the historical monuments of Badami Chalukyas and Badami.
Photographers residing in the State are eligible to participate. The event carries a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 for the winner and Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000 for the second and third prizes. There would also be fourth, fifth and consolation prizes. In addition, there will be two more prizes for the best artistic photographs in two categories.
Those interested in participating should send only eight photographs with a minimum size of 8x12 inches and maximum size of 12x18 inches having the details of the photographer, address, telephone number, date of capturing the photograph and place mentioned on the reverse. In case there is any additional information on the photograph, it could be written on a white paper sent along with the photographs.
StipulationsOnly those photographs that have been taken in the last one year and those that have not been published in any of newspaper or magazine will be considered. The photographers are required to send a self-declaration on the same. The Deputy Commissioner has said that a panel of international photographers will judge the photographs. The winning photographs would be published in the souvenir brought out on the utsav.
The district administration has fixed Rs. 500 as the entry fee for the contest, which the photographers are requested to send by demand draft or money order in favour of Deputy Commissioner of Bagalkot. The last date for sending entries to Deputy Commissioner, ‘Zilladalita Bhavana’, Navanagar, Bagalkot is January 24, and the results will be announced on January 31.
