Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T.B. Jayachandra said that the State will construct dam across Cauvery river at Mekedatu at any cost.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Mr. Jayachandra said that there was “no logic” in Tamil Nadu’s objection to dam at Mekedatu.

He said “even the Supreme Court has directed us to take steps to utilise the State’s share of water."

Caste census

Mr. Jayachandra said it was necessary to do the caste census to assess the caste equation in the State and to provide benefits based on the data collected.
