II PU exam results declared

Overall pass percentage is 60.54%, marginally better than last year’s 60.47%.

Karnataka recorded an overall pass percentage of 60.54 per cent in II PU exams announced on Monday in Bengaluru. The results of the 2015 exam have improved marginal from 60.47 per cent recorded last year.

Like every year, girls have outperformed boys with 68.24 per cent against 53.09 per cent.

Pass percentage of rural colleges is better with 61.52 per cent compared to 60.23 per cent in urban colleges.

In the overall performance 10.38 per cent of the student’s achieved distinction. 51.87 per cent scored first class, 21.23% scored second class while 16.52% scored third class.

Grace marks have been awarded in Mathematics and English up to nine and five marks respectively.

47 unaided PU colleges have a zero pass percentage while 55 colleges have cent per cent results.

No rewards have been announced for this year’s toppers. The Education Department claims that this is the best results in at least 11 years.

Last date for receiving applications for revaluation is May 30.

HITANKSHI M TRIVEDI (Arts) with 579 marks

District-wise pass percentage :

Dakshina Kannada tops again with 93.09 per cent

Udupi second with 92.32 per cent

Uttara Kannada third with 81.19 per cent

Kodagu fourth with 79.84 per cent

Chickamagaluru fifth with 75.18 per cent

Gadag has slipped to the last position from last year’s 24th with 51.02 per cent.
