Kalaburagi sizzles at 44 degrees Celsius

The sweltering weather conditions in Hyderabad Karnataka and Bombay Karnataka worsened with the mercury scaling new heights and the day and night temperatures sharply rising in the region, as per the observations recorded by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 8.30 a.m. on Friday.

While Kalaburgi recorded a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius for the first time in the season, which was also the highest maximum temperature recorded on Friday in the State, Chitradurga recorded 40.3 degrees Celsius, which was the highest temperature recorded for April in the past 123 years.

Sources in the IMD said that dry weather would continue in the region in the next 48 hours.
