Though the Janata Dal (Secular) has condemned the Union government’s decision to demonetise Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 500 notes, it will not join hands with the Congress in the nationwide protest on November 28 (Monday), said H.D. Deve Gowda, the party’s national president, on Sunday.

He told reporters that though life has been badly affected by the Centre’s move, the JD(S) believes in maintaining equal distance from the BJP as well as the Congress. There is no question of siding with the Congress on the issue, he said.
