The former Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) leader H.D. Revanna has refuted allegations that he was responsible for delay in completing the Kachenahalli Lift Irrigation Project.

He told presspersons here on Wednesday that during the Janata Dal (Secular)-rule, the project got huge funds and that he had written nearly 60 letters to various authorities concerned to speed up the work.

“Those staging protests were making false allegations against the JD(S). The Congress has been in power for more than one-and-a-half years. Who has stopped them from completing the work?” he questioned. Recently, Congress MLA A. Manju and Minister D.K. Shivakumar had met the protesters.Mr. Revanna demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah take action against officers responsible for the delay.

VCI recognition

He said he would stage a dharna in front of the CM’s residence if measures were not taken to complete the project at the earliest. Regarding the Veterinary Council of India’s recognition to the Veterinary College in Hassan, Mr. Revanna said it got recognition because of the efforts made by the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda. “He wrote to the Prime Minister on this issue,” Mr. Revanna said.
