Noted Kannada writer D. Javare Gowda, who is popularly known as “De Ja Gow,” passed away at hospital in Mysuru on Monday evening.

De Ja Gow, 101, was admitted to Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research here on Saturday night, after he suffered a “heart failure”. He was treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

However, his condition worsened on Monday and he passed away around 7 p.m., Sadanand S.K., hospital’s in-charge told The Hindu.
