Jail for three in rape cases

The second district and sessions court here sentenced three accused in separate rape cases to jail terms ranging from two years to ten years. The judge pronounced the verdict in the three cases on Tuesday.

Harish of Boodikote in Bangarpet taluk was handed over 10 years imprisonment. He was accused of kidnapping and raping a minor girl. Bangarpet police had registered the case.

Srinivas, a resident of Nachagondlahalli in Mulbagal taluk, was charged with cheating a girl by raping her on the promising of marrying her. He was sentenced to seven years imprisonment. Gulpet police had arrested him in the case.

In another case, Narayanaswamy of Srinivasapur taluk, who raped a girl and assaulted her mother, was given two years imprisonment.
