Indiramma takes over as palace board director

B.G. Indiramma on Wednesday assumed charge as the new director of Mysuru Palace Board.

Ms. Indiramma, who was serving as the Chief Accounts Officer (CAO) of the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board (KUWSDB), Bengaluru, had served the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) and the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) during her earlier stint in Mysuru.

A native of Mysuru, Ms. Indiramma’s parent department is Finance. She was welcomed at the palace by Deputy Director T.S. Subramanya on Wednesday.

The post of the director of Mysuru Palace Board had been vacant for a long time and Ms. Indiramma’s appointment comes just ahead of Dasara celebrations.

Speaking to The Hindu , Ms. Indiramma said that she wishes to accord priority for basic amenities to visitors at the palace premises. “To begin with I will ensure that visitors to Mysuru Palace have access to basic amenities like drinking water, toilets and seating arrangements, besides facilities that are needed for lactating mothers,” she said.

Ms. Indiramma said that she will come up with development programmes aimed at facilitating visitors to the palace in the coming days after settling down in the post.
