Hoysala Utsav organisers come under fire

Poets say their meet not included in the list of programmes

January 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:01 am IST - Hassan:

Disappointed with the ill-treatment meted out to them while organising the poets’ meet for the Hoysala Utsav, poets used the platform to express their ire against the district administration of Hassan through their poems on Friday.

The poets alleged that the district administration neglected the artistes and poets while organising the four-day event, besides not mentioning the details of poets’ meet in the invitation.

Rupa Hassan, member of the Karnataka Sahitya Academy and a noted poet, said in her inaurual address at the poets’ meet, “It looks, poets’ meet was included in the list of programmes at the last minute. The invitation does not include names of poets participating in the event. Initially, I thought of not taking part in the meet. However, I decided to take part only to register my protest.”
