Burglars made away with Rs. 6.5 lakh in cash and gold ornaments after breaking open the front door of a house at Housing Board Colony in Channapatna Layout in Hassan on Wednesday night.
Rizwan, owner of the house, had been to Bengaluru with his family members on Saturday. He had left a set of keys with his relative. The theft came to light on Thursday morning when his relative visited the house. The burglars had opened the front door with the help of an iron rod.
Senior police officers visited the spot.
