MLC and former Minister Basavaraj Horatti, who is in the forefront of the Lingayat movement, received another letter cautioning him about his life on Thursday.

On Monday, he received a letter through post, in which the sender who identified himself as Mr. Horatti’s follower said that five persons had arrived in Hubballi from Mumbai to kill him and that he should be careful.

Complaint

Mr. Horatti had brought it to the notice of the police and subsequently a complaint was registered at the Suburban Police Station in Hubballi.

Police Commissioner M.N. Nagaraj told presspersons on Thursday that they were investigating into the matter and had provided security to Mr. Horatti.

The staff at Mr. Horatti’s home-office said that the second letter had the same content as the first one. While the first letter was posted from Unakal, the second one was posted from Navanagar, they said.
