‘Honour killings’ condemned

The district units of the All-India Mahila Samskrutika Sanghatane, along with the All-India Democratic Students’ Organisation and the All-India Democratic Youth Organisation have expressed concern over the rise in incidents of “honour killings” in the State. Condoling the death of Monica (19), who was a victim of a reported “honour killing” in Timmanahosur village in Mandya district. A. Shanta, Govind and Radhakrishna Upadya, office-bearers of these organisations condemned the incident and urged the government to order a thorough probe and ensure stringent punishment to the guilty.
