High-level meeting in Bangalore today

The State government has convened a high-level meeting in Bangalore on Wednesday to discuss the demand for regularisation of daily wage workers employed in different government departments and the recommendations made in this regard by the Cabinet subcommittee.

President of the Shrama Jeevigala Sangha Chandrashekhar Hiremath told The Hindu over phone from Bangalore that Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar had invited him for the discussion on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister has said that a meeting of the senior officials of all departments concerned would be convened on Wednesday to discuss the issue of framing special rules to regularise the services of daily wagers as a one-time measure.
