The district administration conducted a health check-up camp for employees of the Revenue Department at the Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences here on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner V. Chaitra inaugurated the programme by undergoing a check-up of her health.

She told presspersons that a regular health-check up was necessary to ensure efficiency in delivering their work, despite pressure. “The officials work under pressure. There are chances of attracting different ailments due to constant pressure. If they undergo health check-up regularly, they can avoid serious health problems and work effectively,” she said.

On the first day, employees of the DC’s office underwent the check-up. Gradually, employees of other departments would be involved. “In the recent days, some officials have attempted to commit suicide unable to withstand the pressure they face at work. Programmes of this kind will help them gain mental strength and face situations,” she said.

Earlier, the DC went around HIMS and enquired about the facilities available. Medical Superintendent K. Shankar, Additional Deputy Commissioner K.M. Janaki and others were present.
