The Hassan district administration has launched a web portal to address public grievances. The public can convey their grievances to the administration through the online portal (http://web11.kar.nic.in:8080/hassan_pgrs) from December 29.

Problems related to any of the State government departments can be conveyed to the administration through this portal, said Hassan Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri.

The system has been put in place so that the public need not wait in queues to meet officers. The portal has been designed with the help of the National Informatics Centre and the public can access it through smartphones too.

Instructions on the portal have been made available both in Kannada and English.

How it works

As soon as a complaint is registered, the complainant gets a confirmation, while the officer concerned will get an alert on the phone.

The public also have the option to upload relevant documents (up to 5 mb in size) as a PDF.

The district administration has also appealed to the public to design a logo and a tagline for the portal. The public can send their suggestions to the office Sakala/PGR Section in the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Hassan before December 26. The designer of the selected logo and the writer of the tagline will each get a prize of ₹ 5,000.
