Governor H.R. Bhardwaj will address a joint session of the State legislature on Monday at 11 a.m.

The Governor, in his address, is expected to spell out the Congress government’s programmes which would be implemented in the coming days.

Both the Houses would meet for a short period after the Governor’s address, according to officials of the State legislature.

Till June 7

The Cabinet, which met on Thursday, approved the Governor’s address. Both Houses would meet till June 7. Various Bills are expected to be tabled during the session, the officials said.

Legislative Council Chairman D.H. Shankaramurthy said the Council would meet soon after Mr. Bhardwaj’s address for 15 minutes. The Council session will not have Question Hour due to the short notice on which the session is being held (Members are required to submit their questions at least 10 days in advance.). However, the Zero Hour and Calling Attention notices would be allowed, he said.

D.K. Shivakumar and K. Venkatesh of the Congress and Jagadeesh Kumar of the BJP are expected to take oath as members of the Legislative Assembly before June 7.
