Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Jagadish Shettar has said that Governor Vajubhai Vala has erred in appointing Sham Bhat as KPSC Chairman.

Speaking to press persons after inspecting the progress of the building of Government Degree College here on Friday, Mr. Shettar said that the Bharatiya Janata Party had from the beginning opposed the appointment of Mr. Sham Bhat to the post. “Because of the charges of corruption against him we had opposed his appointment. Several other organisations had also done so it. The Governor has erred in approving the appointment”, Mr Shettar said.

Expressing apprehensions over the future of the KPSC, Mr. Shettar said that soon the KPSC would also be 'auctioned'.
