Gang breaks into shops, decamps with valuables, cash

A gang of persons broke into four shops at Thekkatte village coming under Kota poilce station limits in the early hours of Saturday and decamped with valuables worth Rs. 2.12 lakh and cash about Rs. 23,400.

According to the Kota police, the gang broke into a jewellery and a medical shop, a bakery and a shop selling electrical goods between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. From the jewellery shop, they stole 48 grams of gold ornaments and 970 grams of silver ornaments, while they ransacked the medical shop and stole cash Rs. 15,000 kept in a drawer. They stole Rs. 8,000 from the electrical shop and items of about Rs. 400 from the bakery.
