February 02, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:31 am IST - Chikkamagaluru:

Four members of a family, including two children, were found dead at their residence at Hosamane Extension here on Saturday. They have been identified as Umesh (30), a tractor driver, his wife Jayalakshmi (27), daughter Hemavati (4), and son Shivu (1). Umesh’s brother Manjunath, in a complaint to the Chikkamagaluru Town police, said that neighbours found his brother and family dead on Saturday. The neighbours entered the house when Umesh did not respond to phone calls for a long time. Manjunath suspected that his brother made his wife and children consume poison and later committed suicide by hanging himself.
