Later, the police took him to prison at N.R. Pura. Nagaraj and Zulfikar, who earlier identified with the CPI (Maoist), joined the mainstream after giving up the arms struggle. The district police presented them before the court after recording their statements. The court granted bail to Nagaraj on furnishing a bail bond of Rs. 5,000 and surety of Rs. 50,000.
