Naveenraj Singh, district in-charge secretary, has instructed the Panchayat Raj officials concerned to follow the guidelines issued on the ‘Kere Sanjeevini’ project to take up tank-dredging works in the district and complete the works on time.

Addressing a review meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Friday, Mr. Singh asked officials to photograph the sites before and after the works are completed and to pay after verifying it.

Mr. Singh directed Vikas Suralkar, Chief Executive Officer of the Yadir Zilla Panchayat, to visit the spot where the work is being carried out to ensure that no guidelines are violated and complete the work expeditiously. He suggested that overhead tanks be cleaned and new borewells be drilled on demand by authorised licence holders and action be taken against those responsible if any irregularities were found. “Supply tank water to the villages where drinking water problem is very severe,” he said and added that the officials of Agriculture Department have to take precautions to store seeds and pesticides before monsoon.

Manoj Jain, Deputy Commissioner, and officials of various government departments were present.
