Five persons, including a father-son duo, were killed when the Cruiser vehicle in which they were travelling collided with a tanker on the Bidar-Srirangapatna National Highway near Aurad Cross on the outskirts of Kalaburagi city on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Gangadhar (58), Bheemashankar (42), Ujjwal (13), Anand(32) and Prajwal (15).

Prakash, Rohit, Nagaraj and Mahantesh who were grievously injured were admitted to a private hospital.

The victims, native of Maharashtra, were heading towards Raktal in Chitapur taluk to attend a marriage.
