As the dissatisfied members of the Opposition BJP and the Janata Dal (Secular) trooped in the well of the House over the lackadaisical response of the government towards sugarcane growers, as many as five bills, including The Karnataka Education (Amendment) Bill, 2014, were tabled in the Legislative Assembly here on Friday.
The Education Bill seeks to review the matter that since no service examination or Kannada language examination has been prescribed for the employees of aided educational institutions, the government decided not to extend the additional increment payable to the employees working in aided educational institutions as has been done in the case of those working in government schools.
The Karnataka Molasses Regulation Bill, 2014 , with a view to regulate the production, supply and distribution of molasses in the State, provides for the regulation of production, possession, export, import, transport and sale of molasses, its molasses, prevention against adulteration, restrictions on sale or removal or disposal of molasses, destruction of adulterated or deteriorated molasses, grant of licence for its possession, penalty for contravention of the provisions of the Act, among others.

The Karnataka Municipalities and Certain Other Law (Amendment) Bill 2014 , tabled in the House envisages giving effect to levy tax on telecommunication towers or advertisement structure by urban local bodies to comply with the observation made by the High Court.
The Karnataka Value Added tax (second amendment) Bill 2014 , proposes to state that it is considered necessary to amend the earlier Act of 2003 to provide for reimbursement of VAT on personal purchases made by Diplomats and Consulate officers of the embassies and consulate countries with which any reciprocal agreement is entered into by the Central government.
