A large number of fish were found dead and floating at Hosakere in Maddur taluk in the district on Saturday.
It is suspected that the unusual rise in temperature reduced the oxygen level in the water and resulted in fish kill. However, the Department of Fisheries said that it would request the agencies concerned to investigate. Ravindra, who was rearing fish in the lake after getting a contract from the department, said he incurred huge financial loss owing to the incident.
