Farmer hospitalised after alleged suicide attempt

A 38-year-old farmer has been hospitalized in Tumakuru District Government Hospital after he allegedly tried to commit suicide by consuming pesticide on Thursday.

The farmer, Ranga Nayak of Ambapura in Chikkanayakanahalli taluk in the district attempted to commit suicide on Wednesday, but he was immediately rushed to the Government Hospital and is said to be out of danger.

He is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit in the hospital.

He had tried to end his life as he was unable to repay the loan amounting to Rs. five lakh from private money lenders.
