‘Enhance pay scales of State govt. employees’

February 22, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - Mysuru:

The Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association has said that the pay scales of State employees had not been revised for long and they were being paid considerably less compared to Central employees.

They questioned the disparity and demanded that the State government enhance the pay scale of its employees and put them on par with the Central employees.

H.K. Ramu, president of the district unit of the association, Nagaraju, vice-president of the association, said that there had been disparity between 44 per cent to 108 per cent and added that they had brought this to the State government’s notice.

To pressure the State government, they said that memoranda would be despatched from all the taluks of the State.

Office-bearers of the association will submit the memorand to the tahsildar at the taluk-level and to the Deputy Commissioner at the district-level, to be forwarded to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Revenue Minister V. Srinivas Prasad on February 26.

This would just be a prelude to a major agitation if the State government failed to take action, Mr. Ramu said.
