A meeting between the Higher Education Department and private engineering managements on Thursday, held to arrive at a consensus on the fee structure for engineering courses, was inconclusive. According to M.K. Panduranga Setty, secretary, Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges’ Association, their plea was heard by the department officials and the decision was reserved.
“Rajkumar Khatri, Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department, heard us, but said he will get back to us soon. We will wait and see,” he said.
The association is demanding a minimum hike of 30% in the fee this year citing steep increase in teaching and infrastructure costs.
