‘Educators for Change’ meet in Chennai tomorrow

Educators for Change – a two-day conference for heads of institutions, professors, teachers and parents and organised by Don Bosco School of Excellence and The Hindu In School and Young World will begin on Friday.

Opportunities in the education system like the need for technology-enabled learning, progressive curriculum, and social inclusiveness will create awareness to prepare students to be change makers, said Rev. Father John Alexander, Rector and Correspondent, Don Bosco School.

Over 200 participants representing 150 schools have registered, including 80 participants from outside Chennai.

Eminent scientist M. S. Swaminathan, will inaugurate the conference and deliver the Don Bosco Birth Bicentennial Lecture on Friday at the school’s premises on Casa Major Road, Egmore. Speakers include Lakshmi Narayan, Vice Chairman, Cognizant, N. Ram, Chairman, Kasturi and Sons, Father Thomas V. Kunnunkal, Research Director, Indian Social Institute, New Delhi, K. Ramnarayan, Vice-Chancellor, Manipal University, G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor, VIT University, Jayati Ghosh, Professor of Economics, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and Sashi Kumar, Chairman, Media Development Foundation.
