Students go online to point out evaluation errors

June 05, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 16, 2016 10:45 am IST - BENGALURU:

Several students, who obtained scanned copies of their second PU answer scripts, took to social media to point out the glaring errors made by evaluators while awarding marks to students.

They felt it was their only recourse as the Department of Pre-University Education had issued a circular stating students should not approach the media or the court for redressal.

Posting pictures of scanned answer scripts, one student said evaluators had awarded different marks to the same answers written by two students to define feasible region in linear programming. While the department claimed they had not allotted grace marks from any subjects, one of the answer scripts states “grace awarded”. However, officials claimed the department had not decided to allot grace marks but the evaluators might have taken the decision on a case-by-case basis.
