Hassan city received a heavy downpour on Sunday afternoon.
The rainfall continued for an hour with no sign of reducing, forcing residents to remain indoors.
This was the first heavy rainfall the city witnessed this year. Many roads were inundated and potholes were filled. Traffic on many roads including the busy B.M. Road was severly affected.
The rainfall put a damper on the celebratory spirits of some Kannada film producers who had organised an audio release at the district stadium on the day.
The organisers had expected a good turnout for the programme. However, the rains played spoilsport and kept the people away.
