‘Don’t drop Chinchansur’

September 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - KALABURAGI:

The district unit of the Akhila Bharat Koli Samaj on Tuesday said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should not drop Textile Minister Baburao Chinchansur in the proposed Cabinet reshuffle. He must be given an important portfolio in the Cabinet, it said.

‘Community shocked’

District president of the samaj Shantappa A. Kudi told presspersons here on Tuesday that the reports about the government considering dropping Mr. Chinchansur from the Cabinet during the reshuffle had come as a shock to the entire Koli and Kabbaliga community.

Any such move to drop Mr. Chanchansur would have a disastrous impact on the prospects of the Congress, it said. He said a delegation of the community would meet the Chief Minister and KPCC president Parameshwar and demand an important portfolio to Mr. Chinchansur during the reshuffle of the Ministry.
