Parents of the deceased IAS officer D.K. Ravi, Gowramma and Kariyappa, participated in the 74th day of indefinite dharna being held in Kolar demanding permanent irrigation projects for the arid region.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Gowramma said her son helped the people of Kolar when he worked as Deputy Commissioner here. “We are supporting the struggle of people of this district who have showered love and affection on our son Ravi,” an emotional Gowramma said.
Freedom fighter H.S. Doreswamy and irrigation expert Madegowda are slated to take part in the stir on the 75th day on Thursday, along with Shivananda Shivacharya Mahaswamy of Hiremath, Tumakuru, said members of Shashwata Neeravari Horata Samiti, which is spearheading the stir.
