Development claims by Modi are false: Khurshid Ahmed Saiyed

April 15, 2014 12:48 pm | Updated May 21, 2016 11:28 am IST - Bangalore:

Continuing the Congress’ tirade against BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, chairman of the AICC minority cell Khurshid Ahmed Saiyed on Monday termed all claims of development made by Mr. Modi as “false”.

Addressing presspersons at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) office here, Mr. Saiyed, an advocate from Ahmedabad, said farmers in Gujarat were put to hardship as over 5.64 lakh applications for power connections had been pending for the last five years. He said Mr. Modi, who had been repeatedly raising the issue of corruption under the Congress-led UPA government, had failed to appoint a Lokayukta in his own State for nine years. He said Gujarat had the highest unemployment, dropout and malnutrition rates. Mr. Saiyed alleged that there was no democracy in Gujarat and the Assembly met for a short duration during every session. “All that Mr. Modi has done is to ensure that the Opposition members are suspended from the Assembly within a day or two of conducting the session.”
