Members of the organisations working for the welfare of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes took out a procession under the banner of the Federation of Dalits’ Associations here on Thursday, demanding Cabinet berth for MLC and former Minister Motamma.
They demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah induct Ms. Motamma into his Cabinet, considering her contribution for building the party in the last three decades.
They took out the procession from the Hemavati statue to the Hassan District Congress Committee (DCC) office on B.M. Road, halting vehicular movement at N.R. Circle for some time. They raised slogans in praise of Ms. Motamma.
The protesters submitted a memorandum to DCC vice-president Narayana Gowda.
