Delegation to meet Modi

Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa has said that an all-party delegation will be taken to New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to interfere in the Mahadayi issue.

The Minister said on Friday that BJP leaders should not politicise the drinking water issue and join hands with the State government to pressure the Prime Minister for an amicable settlement of the dispute. Several organisations submitted memorandums to Mr. Thimmappa urging him to take steps to provide records of cultivation of ‘bagair hukum’ land to them and prevent officials from evicting them.
