An unidentified body of a woman aged around 25-years was found in a decomposed state near Ankasandra forest area in Gubbi taluk in the district on Wednesday night.
The police suspect that the woman might have been murdered at some other place and the murderers might have thrown the body in the forest area. The neck of the woman has been strangulated with a nylon wire. The woman might have been murdered around a week ago.
The police has recovered the body and sent it for post mortem.
A case has been registered in Chellur police station.
