The controversy surrounding the release of Bahubali 2 has cleared with Kannada activists withdrawing on Saturday their protest against the film's release in Karnataka in the light of regret expressed by actor Satyaraj for his controversial remarks made nine years ago during a pro-Cauvery stir in Chennai.

Vatal Nagaraj, leading the protests, said that they had accepted the regret expressed by Satyaraj and would not oppose the films release on April 28.

"However, there have been reports of Kannada film screenings being stopped in Tamil Nadu. If that is the case, Tamil films and channels will be banned in Karnataka," he warned.
