Decision about Santosh Lad left to CM: Governor

Governor H.R. Bhardwaj on Monday said the decision to drop or not drop Minister of State for Infrastructure Santosh Lad from the Cabinet is left to the discretion of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Speaking to presspersons after a workshop on healthcare for senior citizens here, Mr. Bhardwaj said he had received representations seeking directions to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to drop Mr. Lad from the Cabinet.

The same have been forwarded to the Chief Minister for a suitable decision, the Governor said.

The illegal mining issue, allegedly involving Mr. Lad, has assumed political colours and he cannot take action, Mr. Bhardwaj said, adding that it is up to the Chief Minister to take the decision.
